IIDA Group Holdings completes the acquisition of 75% stake in Russia Forest Products (BVI) Limited
Moscow, January 14, 2022 – Iida Group Holdings Co., Limited (“IIDA”) completes the acquisition of 75% stake in Russia Forest Products (BVI) Limited (“RFP Group” or the “Company”). The Russian-China Investment Fund and other shareholders will collectively retain 25% ownership in the Company in the former proportions.

The transaction includes provision of $150 million to the Сompany share capital for the implementation of new investment projects.

RFP Group’s strategic partnership with IIDA will allow to obtain access to highly competitive Japanese market and further expand its expertise and capacity in wood processing and production of value-added products, which will be supported by the Company’s planned capital expenditure of not less than RUB 10bn by 2026.

By acquiring a controlling stake in RFP Group, IIDA in its turn would be able to rely on high quality and geographically close Russian Far East wood products to support its large-scale wooden houses construction business in Japan.

In addition, IIDA believes it of utmost importance for the forest businesses globally to maintain and develop best sustainability practices, promote renewable energy, both internally and as an export-oriented biofuel product.

IIDA Group Holdings is a Japan-based company, leading wooden houses construction market player with a market share exceeding 30%. The company is publicly listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with market capitalization in excess of $6.0 billion.

RFP Group is the largest forest industry holding of the Russian Far East, ranks 4th in Russia for annual allowable cut. RFP holds forest lease rights for over 4.0 million hectares.
